Hanoi-based Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital marks 55th founding anniversary

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Health Department Nguyen Dinh Hung has praised the efforts and performances of the Hanoi-based Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital over the past 55 years, especially in odonto-stomatology and otorhinolaryngology.

Hung made the statement at a ceremony marking the hospital’s 55th anniversary in Hanoi on June 17, during which he hoped that the healthcare establishment will continue its cooperation tradition with Cuba and expand programmes on healthcare coordination and support, particularly for children.

He stressed the need continue to increase investment in infrastructure, equipment and high-quality human resouces development, meeting people’s healthcare demand.

The hospital has transferred technology to lower-level hospitals, while coordinating with medical facilities in 35 out of 63 localities nationwide to conduct more than 18,000 humantarian surgeries for children with cleft lip or cleft palate.

In the coming time, it will continue to improve the quality of its services as well as its professional activities, scientific research, apply advanced technology in treatment, and expand international cooperation, striving to become a high-quality centre specialising in dentistry, ear, nose and throat and plastic surgery./.
