Emphasising that socio-economic issues are broad, complicated, highly specialised, and rapidly changing, requiring regular updates and supplements, he suggested further research into new issues and the continued implementation of the policy to streamline the political system, together with a deeper evaluation of the results of the policy, as well as the re-organisation and restructuring of administrative units at all levels.

NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man emphasised that the revolution to streamline the system is entering the second stage with numerous difficulties, urging Soc Trang’s representatives continue to strongly support the initiative. Streamlining the apparatus is to have more resources for development investment and socio-cultural sectors.

The Government has pledged to slash at least 30% of cumbersome administrative procedures, step up decentralisation, enhance implementation capacity, and promote self-resilience and creativity among stakeholders, PM Pham Minh Chinh said.

Discussing new developments in the East Sea, the two sides reaffirmed the need to continue strengthening political trust, calling on all relevant parties to settle disputes on the basis of international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
