Over 5,500 tonnes of rice allocated to eight localities

Eight localities will receive more than 5,500 tonnes of rice from the national reserve in preparation for the Lunar New Year 2025 and the lean season in 2025.

More than 5,500 tonnes of rice from the national reserve will be allocated to eight localities to help them prepare for the Lunar New Year 2025 and the lean season in 2025.

Under decisions by the General Department of State Reserves, over 146.7 tonnes will be provided at no cost for Ha Giang, 654.7 tonnes for Cao Bang, and over 80 tonnes for Bac Kan, all in the northern mountainous region.

As many as 735 tonnes will be delivered to the south central province of Ninh Thuan.

In the meantime, the Central Highlands provinces of Kon Tum, Dak Lak, and Dak Nong will get 105 tonnes, 878 tonnes, and 375.6 tonnes, respectively.

Some 2,552 tonnes will be provided for the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang to support residents during the Tet holiday and agricultural transition.

The rice allocation must be completed before January 28, according to the general department./.
