HCM City presents health insurance cards to impoverished people ahead of Tet

A conference on promoting social and health insurance policies and distributing health insurance cards to impoverished residents in Ho Chi Minh City was held on January 16 by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Social Insurance Agency of the city.

A conference on promoting social and health insurance policies and distributing health insurance cards to impoverished residents in Ho Chi Minh City was held on January 16 by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and the Social Insurance Agency of the city.

As many as 2,361 health insurance cards, each valid for 12 months and valued at over 1 billion VND (39,400 USD) in total, were delivered to individuals from low-income and near-poor households.

Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the city’s Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, expressed gratitude for the support of organisations, businesses, and individuals in caring for vulnerable groups during the 2025 Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival. This effort reflected the city's tradition of solidarity, ensuring everyone can celebrate a warm and meaningful festival.

Tran Dung Ha, Deputy Director of the city's Social Insurance Agency, emphasised the importance of programmes like Warm Tet for the Needy which received significant contributions from the social insurance sector's staff, businesses, and philanthropists.

Through this collaboration, the programme aims to foster a spirit of mutual support and expand access to social and health insurance policies, reinforcing the locality’s commitment to social welfare and inclusivity.
