In his opening remarks, the top legislator said the session focuses on reviewing the outcomes of the 7th session of the 15th NA, which took place from May 20 to June 29, and discussing preparations for the 8th sitting.
The NA Standing Committee will consider and approve a draft resolution on the dissolution, establishment and merger of some criminal investigation agencies of military zones and regional criminal investigation agencies in the Vietnam People's Army; and another on strengthening the organisation and personnel of military procuracy agencies at all levels, he said.
The agenda will also include supplements to the State budget regular expenditure estimates for 2024 of the ministries of national defence and public security; adjustments to the mid-term public investment plans funded by the central budget in the 2021 – 2025 period of ministries, central agencies and localities, and some other issues.
At this session, the committee will consider a report on the NA's ombudsman work in May and June, and give opinions on the organisation of the NA forum on supreme supervision activities, and a law forum.
The NA Chairman emphasised the necessity to enhance the role of the NA’s bodies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and other organisations in the law-making and supervision work./.
Top legislator wraps up official visit to Japan
National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man, his spouse Nguyen Thi Thanh Nga, and a high-ranking NA delegation returned to Hanoi on December 7 evening, concluding their official visit to Japan at the invitation of President of the House of Councillors Sekiguchi Masakazu and his spouse.
