Indonesia offers therapy services for disabled, special needs children

Indonesia’s Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos), through the Kartini Integrated Centre in Temanggung, is implementing a programme that provides special therapy services for people with disabilities and children with special needs (LATIH ADIKKU), the country’s national news agency Antara has reported.

According to a release broadcast by the ministry, the services were offered for free to people with disabilities and children with special needs from low-income families. 

This service also includes the provision of other facilities, such as assistance from psychologists and social workers as well as education or counseling for the beneficiaries. 

"The therapy installations include physiotherapy services, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and doctor services," said Laily Tri Utami, one of the therapists at the center, as quoted by Antara./.
