Cambodia encourages localities to develop infrastructure, attract tourists

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet on August 12 encouraged provinces nationwide to continue investing in public infrastructure and improving local tourist attractions to attract both domestic and international visitors, reported the Cambodian news agency AKP.

Hanoi aims to raise tourists' night-time spending to 30%

Hanoi plans to develop night-time economy zones, corridors and public spaces centred on heritage, culture, creativity and visitor experiences to increase the value of its tourism industry, with an aim to raise the proportion of tourist spending at night to 25-30% of total travel expenditure.

In the coming days, the MoFA will continue to work closely with the An Giang provincial People’s Committee, the Phu Quoc Special Zone, relevant agencies, the Vietnamese Embassy in India, the Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City to closely monitor the situation, carry out consular and citizen protection work, and repatriate the bodies of the deceased tourists to India in accordance with the wishes of their families as soon as possible.
