Tay Ninh: Preparations underway to deploy troops to search for the remains of fallen soldiers in Cambodia
Tay Ninh province is preparing to hold a ceremony to launch the mission to search for and collect the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia during various periods of war, bringing them back to Vietnam, phase 26 (dry season 2026-2027).

According to the plan, Team K71 (under the Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command) will deploy on August 21st, carrying out phase 26 of its mission for 313 days (from August 21st, 2026 to June 30th, 2027).
During this phase, Team K71 will coordinate with Teams K70 and K73 under the leadership and direction of the Steering Committee 515 of Tay Ninh province and the Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command to carry out the task of surveying, searching for, and collecting the remains of martyrs in 8 provinces of Cambodia, with a total of 440 pieces of information on martyrs' graves.
The Steering Committee 515 of Tay Ninh province has determined the guiding principle for this phase as follows: “Wherever a discovery is made, act immediately and decisively, without distinction between assigned areas and search times. Searching and collecting remains in neighboring countries should not be limited to the dry season but should also be conducted during the rainy season if information is available. Be proactive, creative, flexible, and focus on thoroughly reviewing each area that has been excavated; with the spirit of recovering the remains of fallen soldiers while ensuring absolute safety for personnel, equipment, and supplies.”
The goal is to fundamentally search all 143 locations where information about martyrs' graves has been provided. Continue to encourage and educate the public to provide new information about martyrs' graves and burial locations until no more information can be found, maintaining a relationship of solidarity, friendship, respect, and mutual assistance.

The task of searching for and collecting the remains of fallen soldiers during this period was carried out using methods of propaganda, mobilization, connection, collection, and verification of information about fallen soldiers and their graves.
Strengthening relationships, exchanging information, and closely coordinating with the Provincial Remains Collection Teams, Provincial Steering Committees, local authorities, and all levels of Cambodian government in the border areas; coordinating with Cambodian provincial and district military agencies to send officers familiar with the terrain to participate in joint activities with the Teams, creating favorable conditions for the Teams to resolve related issues in carrying out the task of surveying, searching for, and collecting the remains of fallen soldiers, such as: assisting in contacting the people of the villages, landowners, forest owners, guiding, protecting, and negotiating compensation for crops of the Cambodian people.
Based on information regarding the location of the martyrs' graves, the K Teams organize their mobile formations efficiently, moving from their base to the survey, search, and collection site. Once sufficient information about the martyrs' grave locations is verified, bomb and explosive ordnance clearance and site preparation are carried out to ensure absolute safety before the troops are allowed to excavate and search for the martyrs' remains.
During the process of searching for and collecting the remains of fallen soldiers, if 30-40 remains are collected, the Tay Ninh Provincial Military Command will take the lead and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to advise the Provincial Steering Committee 515 on organizing the welcoming ceremony and memorial service, burial of the remains of fallen soldiers in each phase, and welcoming the K Teams back to the country after the completion of phase 26.
