On the afternoon of February 26th, the Hanoi City Women's Union held a meeting of the Women's Unions of communes, wards, and affiliated units to implement key tasks serving the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

In preparation for the elections, the City Women's Union proactively issued guiding documents and intensified propaganda on digital platforms; it also coordinated with the Department of Justice to organize four conferences to disseminate information on the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies to approximately 1,000 female officials and members.
According to Pham Thi Thanh Huong, Permanent Vice President of the Hanoi City Women's Union, the training of female candidates has been implemented systematically. After the third round of consultations, the percentage of women nominated as candidates for the National Assembly reached 43.6% (17/39 people); for the City People's Council reached 42% (86/205 people); and for the commune-level People's Council reached 44.8% (2,324/5,193 people). The Women's Union at all levels also registered 197 projects and activities to celebrate the election, while participating in monitoring and gathering opinions from voters in their residential areas, contributing to ensuring democracy and objectivity.

Concluding the conference, the Chairwoman of the Hanoi City Women's Union, Le Kim Anh, highly appreciated the role of the Union at all levels in disseminating information and mobilizing female voters to participate in the elections. She also requested continued innovation in communication methods, helping members carefully study the biographies and action programs of the candidates to select outstanding representatives who will voice the opinions of women and the people.
On the same day, the Hanoi City Women's Union organized a training session on the topic "The role of women in participating in elections and the work of disseminating information and mobilizing voters to vote" in a hybrid format (in-person and online) for local branches of the Union.
Here, delegates were informed about the rights and obligations of women in participating in elections; emphasizing that exercising the right to vote is not only a right but also a civic responsibility, contributing to building a clean and strong state apparatus. Specifically, units were requested to focus on disseminating information about the significance of the election, the criteria for delegates, and the rights and obligations of voters; strengthening communication on gender equality, the role of women in the political system, and the action programs of candidates, especially female candidates.
Women's associations at all levels are required to promote the application of information technology, effectively utilize social media, and flexibly combine in-person and online activities to enhance the effectiveness of propaganda; at the same time, they should encourage officials, members, and women in Hanoi to actively participate in the "Hanoi Ao Dai Month" (from March 1st to March 15th), spreading the image of elegant, civilized, and responsible women when participating in the election day.
From now until the election day on March 15th, Hanoi Women's Union branches at all levels will continue to monitor the ideological situation of their members, proactively participate in election tasks at the local level, and contribute to the successful organization of the election of National Assembly representatives and People's Council representatives at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
