Indonesia President calls for high-quality tourism development

Indonesia kicked off its annual superior commodities exhibition called Apkasi Otonomi Expo in Jakarta on July 10, aiming at promoting the trade, tourism and investment sectors.

In his address at the event that drew the participation of more than 400 local administrations, President Joko Widodo called on them to promote the use of local products, and develop high-quality tourism instead of raw visitation numbers.

According to deputy head of the administration of the Seribu Islands Muhamad Fadjar Churniawan, the expo is an opportunity for the administration to set up a business network with both domestic and foreign buyers, and introduce local potential, particularly its tourism. 

Many localities brought to the three-day event their unique architecture and typical products./.
