Thai Government plans measures to accelerate economy

The Thai Government is considering the early adoption of measures to address public debt and support the agricultural sector.

Speaking to the press on July 12, Deputy Minister of Finance Julapun Amornvivat said the weekly economic cabinet meeting scheduled for July 15, chaired by Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, will review support measures, including household debt reduction.

He said the government is considering various sectors, including real estate, and different mechanisms to provide support tailored to each group.

Furthermore, the cabinet previously approved a project for joint fertiliser payments to support farmers by subsidising fertiliser costs at 500 THB (13.82 USD) per rai (0.16 ha), up to a maximum of 20 rai (3.2 ha) per farmer for the 2024-2025 production season./.
