Van Khanh commune: Ready for election day
The election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will take place on March 15, 2026. Recognizing this as a crucial political event, Van Khanh commune is focusing on completing all preparations to ensure the election is conducted democratically, in accordance with regulations, and truly becomes a festival for all citizens.

In this election, Van Khanh commune has 6 electoral units and 16 polling stations. The entire commune has 34 candidates running for the XIII term of the Commune People's Council, 2026-2030, to elect 20 representatives.
At the same time, localities in electoral unit No. 26 elected representatives to the An Giang Provincial People's Council with 5 candidates, selecting 3 representatives; and electoral unit No. 7 elected representatives to the 16th National Assembly with 5 candidates, selecting 3 representatives.
Recognizing election work as a key political task, the Party Committee and government of Van Khanh commune have proactively implemented a comprehensive range of solutions to ensure thorough preparation for election day. All procedures have been carried out seriously and correctly, ensuring progress in accordance with the law.

The Party Committee of Van Khanh commune promptly disseminated and implemented the directives from the Central and provincial authorities related to the election. The commune's Election Steering Committee was established, and specific tasks were assigned to each member, ensuring clear responsibilities for each area and locality.
The People's Committee of the commune also established election-related organizations, such as the Commune Election Committee, supporting subcommittees, and election committees for the Commune People's Council representatives. Personnel were selected based on the functions, duties, and capabilities of officials and civil servants. The commune prepared adequate facilities, equipment, professional guidance documents, and other necessary conditions to support the election process.

The process of nominating candidates through consultation was carried out seriously and in accordance with regulations. Following the third consultation meeting, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune compiled the official list of 34 candidates for the XIII term of the Commune People's Council, 2026-2031, ensuring the structure and composition as prescribed.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Van Khanh commune is coordinating the organization of meetings to gather opinions from voters residing in the area regarding the candidates. Currently, voter outreach and election campaigning meetings are being held in the hamlets throughout the commune. The meetings are organized openly, democratically, and in accordance with regulations, creating conditions for voters to directly meet and exchange views with the candidates.
Through these meetings, voters expressed their trust in the candidates and hoped that after being elected, the representatives would regularly listen to the thoughts and aspirations of the people, and promptly report them to relevant authorities to resolve issues arising at the grassroots level.

To date, polling stations throughout the commune have completed the posting of voter lists and lists of candidates for National Assembly representatives, provincial People's Council representatives, and commune People's Council representatives in accordance with regulations. Voter cards have been issued to each household.
At polling stations, national flags, banners, and propaganda slogans are displayed prominently, creating an atmosphere of excitement leading up to election day. Lists of voters and candidates are arranged in a systematic and convenient manner for citizens to view.
Public awareness campaigns have been intensified through various forms. The content focuses on the regulations of the Law on Election of National Assembly and People's Council Deputies; the rights and obligations of citizens in participating in elections; the standards for deputies; the election process and procedures; and brief biographies of candidates. Information is also posted on social media platforms to make it easily accessible to the public.
