Vietnam, France seek to deepen defence cooperation
Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang said Vietnam-France defence ties have continued to grow, with cooperation expanding in various areas, including high-level delegation exchanges; the deputy-minister-level strategic dialogue and defence cooperation mechanism; military medicine; education and training; search and rescue; UN peacekeeping operations; maritime cooperation; and defence industry.

Vietnam, France boost defence cooperation across multiple areas
Vietnam attaches importance to cooperation with France, an important member of the European Union (EU) and Vietnam’s first comprehensive strategic partner within the EU. Bilateral relations have made effective progress in a wide range of areas, including economy and trade, science and technology, education and training, culture and tourism, as well as defence and security.

Expressing his satisfaction with the positive and increasingly substantive development of the Vietnam – Canada Comprehensive Partnership, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang noted that based on the existing agreements, bilateral defence ties have been effectively advanced across a range of areas, including delegation exchanges, dialogue and consultations, training, United Nations peacekeeping operations, defence industry and maritime security.
