Tuyen Quang: Second consultative conference of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province
On February 3rd, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tuyen Quang province held its second consultative meeting to agree on the preliminary list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the 20th Provincial People's Council, for the 2026-2031 term.

Attending and presiding over the consultative conference were comrades: Ma The Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province; Ha Trung Kien, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, along with the specialized Vice Chairmen of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province.

Attending the conference were: Ms. Pham Thi Minh Xuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee; representatives of the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, the Department of Internal Affairs and leaders of member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in the province.

At the second consultative meeting on the preliminary list of candidates for the 20th Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province reported on the overall situation regarding the nomination of candidates. Based on the results of the first consultative meeting and the revised document from the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council regarding the projected number, structure, and composition of representatives for the 20th Provincial People's Council, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province allocated the number of nominated candidates to agencies, organizations, units, and localities. By February 1, 2026, the entire province had 104 nominated candidates for the 20th Provincial People's Council; the dossiers of the candidates were received in full and in accordance with the procedures; and the nomination process was conducted democratically and transparently at the grassroots level.

Regarding the second consultative conference to agree on the preliminary list of candidates for the 16th National Assembly, based on the results of the first consultative conference, Tuyen Quang province is to elect 10 National Assembly deputies, including 6 deputies residing and working locally, and 4 deputies nominated by the Central Government; the minimum number of candidates allocated is 14. Implementing the adjustment document of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the number, structure, and composition of National Assembly deputies for the 16th term, by February 1, 2026, the entire province will have 14 candidates nominated for the 16th National Assembly, ensuring they meet the prescribed standards and conditions.
Based on the reports, the delegates discussed and reviewed the list of candidates for the National Assembly and the Provincial People's Council according to criteria regarding standards, structure, composition, number, personal profiles, and the opinions and trust of voters in their workplaces.

As a result of the consultation, 100% of the delegates attending the conference unanimously voted to establish a preliminary list of 103 candidates for the Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Council, 20th term, and 14 candidates for the National Assembly, 16th term, for the 2026-2031 term. This will serve as the basis for continuing to gather feedback and assess the trustworthiness of voters in their residential areas as prescribed.
