Citing the effectiveness of the Government's Decree No. 168 that stipulates heavier fines for breaking road traffic rules, he said that after over one month of decree enforcement, violations saw substantial reduction compared to previous periods, including a 12.8% drop in the cases subject to fines, a 13% decline in alcohol-related violations, and a 2.1% fall in speed violations. Cases involving drivers under the influence of drugs decreased by 21.5%, while those related to disregarding traffic lights and helmet offences fell by 36.7% and 23.8%, respectively.

The spokesperson noted it is evident that the public is beginning to participate in road traffic in a more orderly and safer manner.

Regarding the prevention of cybercrime, particularly fraud and asset appropriation, Tuyen shared that police have focused on handling violations and uncovering large fraud cases, including the one involving over 1 trillion VND (nearly 40 million USD) in the northern province of Bac Ninh.

He said the ministry will continue to raise public awareness on fraud prevention methods and collaborate with relevant agencies to address management loopholes. It will also launch peak crackdown campaigns to combat cybercrime and strengthen international cooperation in this field./.
