Top legislator meets Philippine lower house speaker in Jakarta

Chiều 6/8, Chủ tịch Quốc hội (QH) Vương Đình Huệ đã có cuộc hội đàm với Chủ tịch Hạ viện Philippines Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, nhân dịp Đại hội đồng Liên nghị viện các nước ASEAN lần thứ 44 (AIPA-44) tổ chức tại Jakarta. .

Chủ tịch QH đánh giá cao sự phát triển mạnh mẽ trên tất cả các lĩnh vực của quan hệ Đối tác chiến lược Việt Nam-Philippines, nhất là trong các cuộc tiếp xúc cấp cao.

Hai nhà lãnh đạo nhất trí thúc đẩy quan hệ song phương đi vào thực chất hơn, nhất là về kinh tế, thương mại và đầu tư, phấn đấu đưa thương mại hai chiều sớm đạt 10 tỷ USD.

In the context of the current complicated world situation, Hue suggested Vietnam and the Philippines cooperate in developing supply chains and facilitate the import of Vietnam's key products such as rice and construction materials, and enhance collaboration in digital transformation and energy transition.

The two sides agreed to continue promoting cooperation between the two parliaments, and stepping up the exchange of delegations as well as the sharing of experience in parliamentary activities.

They will also continue cooperation and mutual support within the multilateral framework; back each other's initiatives at the AIPA; and work together to further strengthen ASEAN's solidarity, strength and centrality, and maintain a common voice in regional security issues, including the East Sea issue.

Chủ tịch QH đề nghị Quốc hội Philippines cử đoàn tham dự Hội nghị Nghị sĩ trẻ toàn cầu lần thứ 9 tổ chức tại Hà Nội. Chủ tịch Hạ viện Philippines khẳng định sẽ làm.

Nhân dịp này, Chủ tịch Quốc hội Việt Nam trân trọng mời Chủ tịch Hạ viện, Chủ tịch Thượng viện thăm Việt Nam. Ông Ferdinand Martin đã nhận lời và cho biết thêm sẽ thăm Việt Nam vào thời điểm thích hợp./.
