Thailand to host world’s major energy exhibition and conference
According to the Ministry of Energy, Gastech 2026 is one of the world’s largest and most influential energy forums, focusing on natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), low-carbon technologies, power generation systems, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the energy sector.
Thailand will host the Gastech Exhibition and Conference 2026 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from September 14–17, with an estimated 50,000 delegates from more than 150 countries.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Gastech 2026 is one of the world’s largest and most influential energy forums, focusing on natural gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), low-carbon technologies, power generation systems, and the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the energy sector.
Speaking at a ceremony to announce the event, Minister of Energy Ekkanat Promphan said the conference will bring together energy industry leaders, government representatives, businesses, investors and policymakers to discuss the future direction of energy systems and strengthen cooperation in ensuring global energy security.
The ministry’s Permanent Secretary Prasert Sinsukprasert said this marks the country’s return as Gastech host after an 18-year interval. The event is expected to bring together government representatives from more than 30 nations, over 1,000 speakers, and more than 1,000 leading companies in the energy, technology and related industrial sectors.
Within the framework of the conference, more than 18 forums and thematic seminars will be held, focusing on energy policy, clean energy technologies, greenhouse gas emission reduction and energy transition.
A new highlight of Gastech 2026 will be the launch of the AixEnergy Forum, which will focus on AI, digital infrastructure and future energy systems. The forum is expected to strengthen connections among technology companies, data centre developers, the energy sector and policymakers, thereby supporting the development of the digital economy alongside energy security.
The ministry also plans to use the event to promote its strategy of positioning the country as a regional LNG hub through the expansion of liquefied natural gas receiving and regasification facilities, serving both domestic demand and export markets.
Gastech 2026 is expected to generate at least 14.62 billion THB (444.3 million USD) in economic value for Thailand through tourism activities, investment inflows, trade and international business cooperation./.
