Thailand's Senate approved a 3.78 trillion THB (nearly 117 billion USD) budget for the fiscal year 2026 in its final reading on September 2.
The upper house of the Thai parliament passed the budget bill for fiscal year 2026 beginning in October with 151 votes in favour, one against, and 27 abstentions.
After the bill was approved in its final reading, caretaker Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Pichai Chunhavajira stated that the approved budget of 3.78 trillion THB would be a key driver for the government’s strategic and developmental policies aimed at sustainable economic growth.
He promised that the government would spend the budget with transparency and accountability to successfully steer the country’s economy through volatile economic conditions.
