Thai Nguyen: Election preparations are being implemented in a democratic, lawful, and timely manner
Along with the rest of the country, Thai Nguyen province is actively preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term with a sense of urgency, seriousness, scientific approach, and coordination.
At the conference to unify several important contents serving the preparation for the election, the province proactively disseminated the directives from the Central Government, developed a comprehensive plan, strengthened the Steering Committee, the Election Committee and supporting teams; and reviewed the conditions regarding infrastructure, human resources, information and propaganda work. The draft plan for implementing the election clearly outlines key work milestones and requires coordination between agencies and localities to ensure progress and compliance with the law.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council presented the draft plan on the structure, number, composition, and nominees for election to the Provincial People's Council for the 2026-2031 term. The plan is based on the Law on Organization of Local Government, the Law on Election of National Assembly Deputies and People's Council Deputies; the standards for deputies; and the requirements for a reasonable structure in terms of leadership and management personnel, full-time deputies, female deputies, young deputies, ethnic minority deputies, and the proportion of non-Party members.
The delegates discussed and contributed many ideas to refine the Project Proposal, ensuring its representativeness and scientific basis, while also meeting the practical requirements of the province.
Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong emphasized the particularly important significance of the election, noting that it is a major political event for the country, directly selecting outstanding representatives in terms of character, intellect, and ability.
To ensure that the election process in the province proceeds on schedule, in accordance with the law, and achieves the best possible results, the Provincial Party Secretary requested that relevant agencies enhance their sense of responsibility, strictly implement the directives of the Central Government, and closely adhere to the province's overall plan.
At the same time, it is requested that the Department of Internal Affairs - the standing agency of the Provincial Election Committee - fully incorporate the opinions expressed at the Conference and promptly finalize the draft plan for the implementation of the election work; clarifying the timelines for tasks, deadlines for completion, and responsible units to facilitate monitoring, inspection, and supervision.
Regarding the draft plan on the structure, number, and composition of the Provincial People's Council representatives, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council needs to continue to carefully review it, ensuring it adheres to the prescribed framework, is suitable to the province's characteristics, and has a reasonable structure across different components and sectors.
Information and communication work must be implemented early, proactively, and with a focus, contributing to raising awareness among cadres, Party members, and the people about the requirements and standards for representatives and the rights and obligations of voters.
The Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have made thorough preparations for the planned consultation process in accordance with established procedures. Members of the Steering Committee, the Election Committee, and relevant agencies continue to coordinate closely, closely monitor the situation, proactively advise, and effectively organize the implementation of each task, creating the foundation for the election in Thai Nguyen province to be democratic, open, transparent, lawful, and truly a great festival for the entire population.
