Statue of Cuban national hero José Martí inaugurated in Ho Chi Minh City

José Martí (1853–1895) was a Cuban national hero and great thinker, regarded as a pioneer in laying the foundations for Vietnam–Cuba friendship through his writings about Vietnam. He was a prominent politician, revolutionary, writer, journalist, and founder of the Cuban Revolutionary Party, and died in battle in 1895.
