Support mechanisms remain fragmented, spread too thin, and disconnected from actual business needs. Barriers to access persist, and post-support evaluation is ill-defined.

Vietnam pushes to develop world-class technology startups

Vietnam’s startup ecosystem now comprises roughly 4,000 startups, 208 investment funds, 84 incubators and more than 20 startup support centres. With an estimated valuation of 75 billion USD, the ecosystem has established most of the key foundations needed for long-term growth.
Ho Chi Minh City sets up 500-billion-VND venture capital fund to support startups

Under the plan, the fund will begin operations in 2026 with an initial charter capital investment of 500 billion VND, including 200 billion VND (40%) from the State budget and 300 billion VND (60%) from private investors. The city aims to expand the fund’s capital to at least 5 trillion VND by 2035.
