Standing Deputy Inspector General Nguyen Quoc Doan introduced to run for 16th National Assembly deputy

The Government Inspectorate sought opinions from voters at its workplace regarding Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Standing Deputy Chief Inspector of the Government Inspectorate, to nominate him as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly, term 2026-2031, on 16th January.

At the conference, voters heard a brief biography and presentation introducing Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Standing Deputy Chief Inspector of the Government Inspectorate, as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly ; they were also informed of the legal regulations on the standards and conditions for candidacy for the National Assembly.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan is a high-ranking Party leader, well-trained, with strong political acumen, impeccable moral character, exemplary lifestyle, and high prestige within the Party, the political system, and among the people.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan was born in 1975 in Ninh Binh province. He received professional training in Economic Crime Investigation (People's Police Academy); he holds a PhD in Law specializing in Criminology and Criminal Investigation. His political theory level is Advanced.

He has extensive and diverse experience in many fields, having held numerous important positions in central and local agencies such as: Deputy Head and Head of Department at the Economic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security), and Secretary to the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security; later appointed Head of the Economic Police Department - Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of Quang Ninh Provincial Police; Member of the Party Committee, Deputy Director of the Waterway Police Department - Ministry of Public Security.

Since 2018, he has successively held the positions of Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police Command, Director of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Police, and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Thua Thien Hue Provincial Party Committee (now Hue City). In January 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, he was elected as a member of the Central Committee of the Party for the 2021-2026 term.

In July 2021, he was transferred and appointed by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee. In 2024, he was appointed to the position of Deputy Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court. On November 4, 2025, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of Permanent Deputy Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate.

For his significant contributions during his career, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan was awarded the First Class Military Merit Medal (2014); the title of National Emulation Soldier (2020); and the First, Second, and Third Class Glorious Soldier Medals.

At the conference, after democratic discussion, 100% of the voters of the Government Inspectorate approved and unanimously agreed to nominate Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly, demonstrating high unity and consensus. Immediately afterwards, the Government Inspectorate continued to organize an expanded meeting of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the leadership of the Government Inspectorate in accordance with regulations; the meeting once again unanimously nominated Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan to run for the 16th National Assembly.

The nomination of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan as a candidate for the National Assembly not only fully meets the conditions and standards to assume the important responsibilities of a National Assembly representative, but also demonstrates the trust and expectations of the agency and unit regarding his significant contributions to the activities of the 16th National Assembly, in building policies and laws and making decisions on important national issues.

The Government Inspectorate has officially finalized the list and personnel dossiers to nominate Mr. Nguyen Quoc Doan, Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, and Standing Deputy Chief Inspector of the Government Inspectorate, as a candidate for the 16th National Assembly.
