Sci-tech, transport issues to be placed under microscope in NA’s fifth session

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat and Minister of Transport Nguyen Van Thang will take the floor at the Q&A session in the 15th National Assembly’s fifth session in Hanoi on June 7, which are televised nationwide.

After Minister - Chairman of the Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs Hau A Lenh and Government members explain relevant issues, Minister Dat will be questioned about national sci-tech development strategy; hi-tech application for socio-economic development, especially in agriculture; the allocation, management, and use of State budget for scientific research; the commercialisation of research results from institutes, universities and public service units; mechanisms and policies to encourage private investment in the field; and the enforcement of laws and policies regarding sci-tech development fund for enterprises.
 
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and ministers of Finance, Planning and Investment, Agriculture and Rural Development, Education and Training, Information and Communications will also clarify issues concerned.
 
In the afternoon session, Minister Thang will make clear solutions to improving the transport infrastructure system and alleviating traffic congestions in major cities, the State responsibility for inspection activities, raising the quality of inspections for road and inland waterway vehicles. Other topics include transportation management and the issuance, revocation and management of road and inland waterway vehicle permits.
 
 Deputy PM Ha together with ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Construction, Science and Technology, Public Security and National Defence will also join in the Q&A session to give further explanations on transport issues./.
