Dong Thap: Team K91 finds 42 remains of fallen soldiers in a coconut grove
After several days of digging through layers of soil at the old Ca Cai cemetery, Team K91 (Political Department, Dong Thap Provincial Military Command) found 42 remains of fallen soldiers along with many artifacts.

On the morning of August 20th, Lieutenant Colonel Vo Thanh Dan, Team Leader of Team K91, reported that during the search and collection of remains of fallen soldiers in the Ca Cai Cemetery area (Ca Cai hamlet, Tan Thanh commune, now a coconut garden belonging to a local household), Team K91 found 6 sets of remains of unidentified fallen soldiers. The remains were discovered along with many artifacts such as water bottles and pistol holsters. Team K91 is preserving the remains according to regulations.
From August 7th to 19th, Team K91 recovered 42 remains of fallen soldiers at the Ca Cai cemetery area in Tan Thanh commune.

According to records, this area was formerly a cemetery. During the Southwest border war, many fallen soldiers were buried here. Later, because the cemetery was frequently flooded, the authorities exhumed the remains and moved them to a new cemetery. It is possible that during the exhumation process, not all remains were included, resulting in some being left behind.
Currently, Team K91 is continuing to expand the search area in the Cả Cái cemetery region.
During the "500-Day Campaign," Team K91 has so far collected 112 remains of fallen soldiers, which have been reburied. The 42 sets of remains recently discovered have been brought to the morgue, awaiting the reburial ceremony and memorial service before being laid to rest in the cemetery.
