Hue city finalizes List of 14 National Assembly candidates and 90 People’s Council candidates
On the afternoon of February 12th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City held its third consultative conference to select and compile a list of qualified candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the Hue City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term.
The conference was co-chaired by Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Ai Van, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city.
Attending the conference, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the City People's Council was Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the City People's Council.
At the conference, delegates heard a report from the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city on the results of organizing the collection of opinions and confidence ratings from voters residing in their areas regarding candidates for the 16th National Assembly and the City People's Council for the 2026-2031 term; they also heard a report on cases of candidates withdrawing their candidacy for personal reasons.
The delegates highly appreciated the preparatory work of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city; acknowledged the capabilities and qualities of the nominated candidates and offered opinions on the professional information and positions of each candidate.
In a democratic and objective spirit, and leveraging collective intelligence, the conference unanimously voted to select and compile a list of qualified candidates for the official election, including 14 candidates for the 16th National Assembly in the city and 90 candidates for the 9th City People's Council, term 2026-2031.
The third consultative conference is an important step in the consultation process, contributing to the selection of outstanding delegates in terms of quality, capacity, and prestige, representing the will, aspirations, and legitimate rights of the people of Hue City.
