NA Permanent Vice Chairman Do Van Chien chairs coordination meeting with NA standing bodies
Politburo member and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien chaired a coordination meeting between the leadership of the National Assembly and the Standing Council for Ethnic Affairs, the Standing Committees of the National Assembly, and the Office of the National Assembly to review key tasks for February.
Attending the meeting were members of the Party Central Committee, including Secretary General of the National Assembly and Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly Le Quang Manh; Chairman of the Committee for Culture and Social Affairs Nguyen Dac Vinh; Chairwoman of the Committee for Science, Technology and Environment Nguyen Thanh Hai; Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Committee for Petitions and Supervision Le Thi Nga, along with representatives of the Standing Council for Ethnic Affairs, various National Assembly committees, leaders of the Office of the National Assembly, and departments and units under the Office.
Reporting on the results of work in January and outlining key tasks in the coming period, Deputy Chairman of the Office of the National Assembly Pham Dinh Toan noted that February coincides with the Lunar New Year (Binh Ngo) holiday and is also a crucial period for thorough preparation for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, as well as for organizing the First Session of the 16th National Assembly.
He said that National Assembly bodies will continue to strictly implement Directive No. 01 on studying, disseminating, and implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress; urgently update the contents discussed and decided at the Congress into the Action Program of the Party Committee of the National Assembly; clearly define roadmaps, resources, and inspection and supervision mechanisms; and strive to fully institutionalize new and core contents of the Party Congress documents.
At the same time, agencies will strengthen supervision and inspection of election preparations; implement plans and tasks in accordance with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on the development of science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; and strictly carry out Directive No. 55-CT/TW on organizing the 2026 Lunar New Year.
The Office of the National Assembly will take the lead in advising and finalizing the draft agenda, document list, and logistical arrangements for the First Session of the 16th National Assembly, as well as carefully preparing meetings of the National Assembly Standing Committee, including, in the immediate future, its 55th session scheduled for March 2026.
At the meeting, delegates focused discussions on supervision work, election preparations, and the implementation of the “Digital Literacy for All – Digital National Assembly” movement.
In his concluding remarks, Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien emphasized that the workload in the coming period will be very heavy. He called on agencies to further promote unity, initiative, responsibility, and strong determination, with particular attention to the preparation of elections for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels, as well as the organization of the First Session of the 16th National Assembly, ensuring progress, quality, and clear accountability.
With the Lunar New Year approaching, he also urged agencies to continue caring for the well-being of officials, civil servants, public employees, and workers, especially union members and those facing difficult circumstances, so that all may enjoy a warm and meaningful Tet holiday.
