State President hands over rank promotion decisions to senior military, public security officers
State President Luong Cuong, who is Chairman of the Council of National Defence and Security, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, chaired a ceremony in Hanoi on August 1 to hand over decisions on promoting the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General to several senior officers of the People's Army and People's Public Security.

Hanoi (VNA) – State President Luong Cuong, who is Chairman of the Council of National Defence and Security, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, chaired a ceremony in Hanoi on August 1 to hand over decisions on promoting the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General to several senior officers of the People's Army and People's Public Security.
Authorised by the State President, Pham Thanh Ha, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Office, announced the decisions on the promotion from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General for Assistant to the Party General Secretary and Head of the Party General Secretary’s Office To An Xo; member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA) Thai Dai Ngoc; Deputy Chief of the VPA’s General Staff Pham Truong Son, and Deputy Director of the VPA’s General Department of Politics Truong Thien To.
In his address, President Cuong expressed pride in conferring the promotions at a time when Vietnam is gearing for the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, as well as the founding of the People’s Public Security.
Congratulating the newly promoted officers, he described the advancements as a testament to their dedication and accomplishments, reflecting the trust placed in them by the Party, the State, the Central Military Commission, and the Central Public Security Party Committee.

Looking forward, President Cuong called on the officers to uphold their responsibilities and carry forward the proud traditions of the VPA and People’s Public Security. They must stay absolutely loyal to the Party, the nation, and the people, while continuously cultivating themselves, maintaining their revolutionary ethics and firm political mettle, he said.
The President wished that they would continue to work closely with the Central Military Commission, the Central Public Security Party Committee, leaders of the General Department of Politics, the VPA’s General Staff, and the Office of the Party Central Committee to build on their past achievements, making more contributions to safeguarding socio-political stability and maintaining a peaceful environment for national development./.
