HCM City reduced the number of poor and near-poor households by 69,914, or 2.7% of the total households during 2021-2025 period, said Nguyen Thi Hong Ha, Chief of the Office of the city’s Steering Committee for Sustainable Poverty Reduction.
As many as 4,966 safe and solid houses were built for more than 25,000 people in areas frequently hit by storms and floods during the past seven years.
Many specific mechanisms and policies issued by the Party and State for ethnic minorities have been carried out effectively in the Mekong Delta province of Soc Trang, helping lift a large number of households out of poverty.
