Party General Secretary To Lam and former PM of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong discussed ways to further deepen bilateral relations in this new phase of development, in line with the freshly established Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. This includes enhancing collaboration between the two ruling parties by promoting delegation exchanges and sharing experience in governance and national development.

Party General Secretary To Lam met former Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, who is currently Senior Minister and Senior Advisor to the People's Action Party (PAP) of Singapore, during his official visit to the country on March 12.

Lam congratulated Singapore on its remarkable socio-economic achievements under the leadership of the ruling PAP, the Singaporean government, and former PM Lee Hsien Loong over the years, which make the country one of the region’s leading financial, technological, and innovation hubs, with an increasingly prominent role on the international stage.
Singapore remains a close friend and a key partner of Vietnam in various fields, including economy, trade, investment, and security-defence, he affirmed, emphasising that Singapore’s experience and successes serve as a great source of inspiration and motivation for Vietnam in pursuing its strategic development goals.

Saying the direct contributions of Lee as Prime Minister in the past have laid a solid foundation for bilateral relations, the Vietnamese Party leader asserted that the official upgrade of the bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership will create new momentum for strengthening cooperation between the two countries, contributing positively to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region.

Delighted with the outcomes of the talks between Party General Secretary To Lam and Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, as well as the signing of nine cooperation agreements in various fields such as science and technology and renewable energy, Lee expressed his optimism about the prospects of Singapore-Vietnam cooperation in all key areas. He also showed his confidence that the bilateral relationship will continue to grow strongly in the future.
