NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man attends to conference collects voters’ opinions on candidates for full-time positions in 16th Legislature
On the morning of January 13, at the National Assembly (NA) House, Politburo member, Secretary of the NA Party Committee and Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man attended a conference to collect opinions from voters at the workplace regarding 122 individuals nominated by the NA Standing Committee to run as full-time deputies of the 16th National Assembly at the central level.

Also attending the conference were Politburo member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the NA Party Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Do Van Chien; Party Central Committee members and Vice Chairpersons of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh and Nguyen Thi Thanh; NA Secretary-General and Chairman of the NA Office Le Quang Manh; members of the NA Standing Committee; leaders of the NA Party Committee; and voters currently working at the Ethnic Council, NA committees and the NA Office.

The conference was held to enable voters at the workplace to review the nominees against the standards for National Assembly deputies, offer comments, and express their confidence in those nominated to serve as full-time deputies of the 16th National Assembly.

At the conference, participants were briefed on the criteria for National Assembly deputies, cases ineligible for candidacy, and the summarized profiles of the 122 nominees from the National Assembly’s agencies, the NA Office and advisory bodies assisting the NA Party Committee.

In addition to the standards stipulated in the Law on Election of Deputies to the National Assembly and People’s Councils, candidates working at central-level agencies are required to fully meet the criteria, conditions and age requirements set out in Guidance No. 36 of the Party Central Organization Commission on personnel work for deputies of the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.
After reviewing the dossiers and comparing them with relevant regulations, voters agreed that all nominees met the required standards in terms of political integrity, ethics, lifestyle, professional capacity, health and level of credibility.

For re-nominated candidates, voters acknowledged their competence, intellect and significant contributions over one or more NA terms, particularly during the 15th National Assembly, which faced numerous difficulties and unprecedented challenges while handling an exceptionally heavy workload. For first-time nominees, voters noted that they are key leaders of advisory and supporting units, with many years of dedication, deep understanding of the National Assembly’s operations, and sufficient qualifications and capacity to fulfill the responsibilities of an NA deputy.
Representatives of the nominees expressed a strong awareness of the demands placed on full-time National Assembly deputies, affirming their commitment to maintaining a receptive and open-minded attitude, listening to diverse opinions, addressing difficult issues head-on, and placing the interests of the country and the people above all else. They pledged to put citizens and businesses at the center of policy research and advisory work.
The conference unanimously voted, with 100 percent approval, to endorse the list of 122 individuals nominated by the National Assembly Standing Committee to run as full-time deputies of the 16th National Assembly at the central level.
