Lao Party Central Committee holds 2nd meeting to adopt important issues
The 12th Central Committee of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) convened its 2nd plenary meeting on March 3, under the chair of Party General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.
The three-day meeting aims to solidify the nation's strategic roadmap for the next five years. The primary objective is to deliberate on and approve seven pivotal work plans designed to trigger a strong, deep, and comprehensive transformation in national governance.
In his opening remarks, General Secretary Thongloun Sisoulith highlighted that the meeting is taking place during a period of national celebration following the successful elections for the 10th National Assembly and the 5th provincial People’s Councils.
This meeting is a breakthrough moment, he said, stressing that it aims to broaden the leadership vision and create high unity within the Party to lead the nation out of poverty and underdevelopment, moving steadily toward the socialist goals.
He urged all attendees to exercise high political responsibility and focus on finding practical, actionable solutions to national challenges. This plenum serves as the inaugural step in translating the Resolution of the 12th National Party Congress into tangible progress for the Lao people.
