The Indonesian Ministry of Creative Economy has strengthened Indonesia’s cybersecurity ecosystem by partnering with industry associations to develop local startups in the digital security sector.

Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said the collaboration involves the National Information and Communication Technology Entrepreneurs Association (APTIKNAS) and the Indonesian Digitalisation and Cybersecurity Association (ADIKSI).

With these two associations, the ministry will identify and support local cybersecurity entrepreneurs and brands to help them scale up, Harsya said after attending National Cybersecurity Connect 2025 in Jakarta.

According to him, Indonesia has established a special unit dedicated to digital innovation, including cybersecurity solutions.

He added that with government support, Indonesia aims to become not only a user but also a producer of cybersecurity technologies capable of competing globally.

The ministry works with more than 150 associations across 17 creative economy subsectors, which will be involved in collaborative efforts to raise awareness of the importance of cybersecurity, the official said./.
