Anh said the Mekong Delta province, with an extensive river network, fertile soil and temperate climate, is well-positioned for agricultural development, especially in rice and fruit farming. Looking ahead, Hau Giang is set to become a key transportation hub with two expressways facilitating seamless connectivity, opening up opportunities for high-tech agriculture, industrial growth, urban expansion, and logistics.

The province is actively attracting investment, with commitment to fast land clearance and administrative procedures, attractive policies, infrastructure and opportunities, he said, inviting more Philippine firms to partner in driving its sustainable growth.

Governor of Agusan del Sur province Santiago B. Cane Jr. expressed his interest in local support for farmers and its strategies in canal infrastructure, irrigation projects, and water resources management for agricultural production.

In response, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Chi Hung said the province has actively supported farmers through agricultural development projects, technological advances, and the supply of fertilisers and pesticides to promote safe and sustainable farming practices.

Last year, Hau Giang’s economy grew by 8.76%, ranking second in the region and achieving 1.298 billion USD in exports-imports. Currently, the province hosts 25 foreign-invested projects.
