NA Standing Committee opens 49th session
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man said that the session will be conducted in three phases, covering 32 official agenda items and several reserve matters. The top legislator stressed that this is an important gathering to prepare for the 10th session, the last of the 15th parliament, while swiftly implementing new missions in accordance to laws, ensuring the completion of the legislature’s agenda.

NA Standing Committee stresses tackling corruption, irresponsibility
The NA Standing Committee agreed with the Government’s assessment that corruption remained complicated in some areas in 2025. It concluded that preventive measures were still not fully effective, with cases of lax management and irresponsibility among certain collectives, individuals, and leaders.
NA Standing Committee to convene 49th session over 5.5 working days
The first phase is set for September 5, followed by a half-day session on September 12 morning. The final stretch runs from September 22-23 and September 25 afternoon to September 27 morning, with the September 27 afternoon reserved as a backup.

During this phase, the NA voted to adopt eight resolutions, paving the way for amendments to several articles of the 2013 Constitution, preparing for the election of deputies to the 16th NA and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, and making decisions on other urgent matters in line with the Politburo’s resolutions.
